Student Art Show

The Colorscape Chenango Student Art Show is a children's art exhibit that occurs during Colorscape weekend: September 12th and 13th, 2026. Anyone currently in grades k – 12, including those that will graduate in June 2026, can participate.

Please note: This show is open to student artists outside of Chenango County! Feel free to spread the word and invite others in surrounding counties to submit if interested.

The show will be held at the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries, located in the Chenango Arts Council building on 27 West Main Street I Norwich. It will be open to the public on Saturday, September 12th, from 10am – 6pm and Sunday, September 13th, from 11am - 4pm.

Age Groups

  • K - 3rd Grade
  • 4th - 6th Grade
  • 7th - 9th Grade
  • 10th - 12th Grade

Mediums

  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • 3D (sculpture & ceramics)
  • Graphics (photo, print, digital)

Awards

Each age bracket and medium category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place cash prize winner, and there will be one “Best in Show” cash prize winner. These winners are chosen by a jury prior to Colorscape weekend. Winners will be announced from the NBT Main Stage on Sunday, September 13th at 3:10pm.

Submissions

  • Drop off art at the Colorscape Chenango office, during the following dates/times:
    • July 27, 10am – 4pm; July 29, 10am – 6pm; August 3, 10am – 6pm; August 6, 10am – 3pm, or by appointment.
    • The Colorscape Chenango office is located in the basement of the Chenango Arts Council building. Using the Maple St. entrance, go straight down the stairs & through the double-doors.
  • Pick up artwork(s) from the show on Sunday, September 13th after the award ceremony (delivery to schools can be arranged if needed).
  • Please do not include any name tag or label on the front of the piece(s).
  • Maximum of 3 works per student: Only 1 piece per category.
  • Submitted artwork must be original and completed within the 2025-2026 school year. Kits, copies, and ceramics from commercial molds will not be accepted.
  • Size limits: 2D - 18" x 24"; 3D - max. 3ft in any direction.
